Who are we?

Dolly's Girls

The Sisters:
Kathy, Susie, and Margie

It's amazing how incredibly different we are yet very much the same.

Why CupCakes you ask?

Let's just say in 2007 alone the CupCakes hosted a Womens' Triathlon at the Bonneville Spa Resort, crossed the finish line in the Seattle Danskin Womens' Sprint Tri, published as a participator in a cookbook and were recognized by merchants at the local malls (only due to our hours of shopping together)!  The 2005 Portland Marathon also challenged us to walk a whopping 26.2 miles.

In order to encourage each other, invite others to join us, we needed a team.  If we had a team, we needed a name............ The CupCakes were born. Within 48 hours we had CupCakes join us from Texas, Nevada, California, Washington and Oregon! Then there were CupCake pins, t-shirts, towels and a blog.

Now CupCakes has taken on a whole new dimension with our exciting new business adventure, Dolly's CupCakes.

Dolly's CupCakes' life long motto: "If it's worth doing, it's worth overdoing!"

Who is Dolly?

Mom

Mom was born Susanne R. Kirk and became Mrs. James Stevenson; she'd married her soldier boy.  Dad soon whisked her away to see the world.

The actual tale of how Sue became Dolly, we may never know.  If you were to have spent just a bit of time with her, it would be obvious.  Dolly was a sweetheart in every sense of the word.

The oldest of four brothers and two sisters, Dolly grew up in Philadelphia.  Her heart was never far from her family.  It wasn't long after getting married that Dolly became Mom.  She learned to pack her household and five kids when the military said "Go"; always with a smile on her face and a willingness to taste something new. East Coast to West Coast and states in between; Nicaragua to Panama: Mom did it all. She learned to cross country ski in her 60's and golfed thru her 80's. She and Dad retired in Lake Tahoe.

Mom never let a day go by without her tea and toast, a walk to the grocery store and night time prayer.
